- Make sure the photo of your ID is clear, well-lit, and not cropped
- Use the original document: scans and photocopies are not accepted
- If you receive the "document already in use" error, upload a different document
- Enable camera access on your mobile phone in your browser settings
- If facial recognition does not work, repeat the process in a well-lit environment
Common reasons why age verification is rejected
Age verification on Skokka may be rejected for several reasons related to photo quality or device permissions. Here are the most common causes:
- The photo of the document is blurry, has glare, or some parts are cropped
- The submitted document is a scan or photocopy, which is not accepted by the system
- The document has already been used for another verification
- The mobile phone camera does not have the necessary access permissions enabled
- Facial recognition fails due to poor lighting
If none of the solutions described below resolve the issue, contact Skokka Support.
Problems with the document photo
If age verification is rejected due to problems with the document photo, follow these steps:
- Make sure the photo is clear, well-lit, and that all information is perfectly readable
- Check that the file is in JPG or PNG format and does not exceed the maximum allowed file size
- Close and reopen your browser, or try using another device
Important: the verification system does not accept scanned documents or photocopies. You must submit a photo of the original physical document, taken at the time of verification directly with your mobile phone's camera.
"Document already in use" error
If age verification is rejected with the message "document already in use," it means that the same document is already associated with another verification on the platform. For security reasons, each document can only be linked to one account.
To resolve this error:
- Check whether you have already completed age verification with another account
- If you have another identity document available, use it to complete the verification
- If you believe this is an error, contact Skokka Support and specify the type of document you used
The camera does not open during verification
If the camera does not open during age verification, your browser may not have the necessary permission. Follow these steps depending on your device:
Android
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps → Browser → Permissions
- Tap Camera and select Allow
iPhone
- Open Settings
- Go to Privacy → Camera
- Enable camera access for the browser you are using
After granting permission, refresh the page and try the age verification process again.
Facial recognition did not work
If facial recognition did not work during age verification, follow these tips:
- Move to a well-lit environment, preferably with natural light
- Position your face directly in front of the camera without sunglasses or accessories covering your face
- Follow the on-screen instructions and align your face within the indicated oval frame
If facial recognition continues to fail, try using another mobile phone or a different browser.
